In order to unlock an iPhone without pressing down on the home button, you need to turn on “Rest Finger to Open”. Firstly, making sure that your have allowed TouchID to unlock your iPhone and then follow steps below:
- Head to Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button
- Press the switch next to “Rest Finger to Open” to turn this functionality on. This will make it so that you can open your iPhone with TouchID , without having to press the Home button.
Can I bring back “Slide to Unlock” in iOS 10?

- Double click to open com.apple.springboard.plist. And add the following two lines in it after the header information.
- Save the file. Finally, close iBackupBot and restore a backup from iTunes. Once the process is completed successfully, iPhone will reboot and “Slide to unlock” will be back on your device.
